Decidedly Surreal: The Bindings of Mary Louise Reynolds

When: Jan. 20-March 23 2015
Mary Louise Reynolds was one of the founding members of the surrealist movement, rubbing elbows with the likes of Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, and Man Ray. Her medium of choice was books—creating the binding out of materials such as corset stays, broken teacup handles, thermometers, sponge rubber, reptile skins, and kid gloves. This exhibit features 74 of Reynold's uniquely bound books.
