t's funny that the phenomenal success of the DIY spirit of Caine's Arcade (http://cainesarcade.com/) runs the complete other direction. It also condemns de Vinck. The Caine story is about a real 9-year old boy who built an imaginative arcade from boxes in his father's East LA car parts shop. Charlie was right. This de Vinck guy's exclusive and narcissistic approach to his own nostalgia is more an indictment of the present than a trip down memory lane. He just gets it wrong in the same way that every nostalgic old timer talking about the good ole days has since people complained that the printing press would destroy story telling.
