Re: “How Chicago house got its groove back

Carlos was not really part of the second wave...he came in much later..after we revived house music into the rave scene and spread it thru raves in the midwest and beyond where radio play in cities in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Louis, etc.. house music was non existant. Kids really took to the Chicago/Detroit Sound. By 1996 Kids all over the midwest could be seen wearin Relief shirts, Dancemania shirts, Detroit Techno shirts..it didnt take long for house music to be a beast again in the city by 1997..Sneak really took advantage of all our hard work and was able to ride the wave of Chicago House popularity by putting out quality music. but when i worked with him at Hip House from 1991-1992 he was more into makin money doin t-shirts than pushin the music. he was def a later bloomer but i respect what he has done..more info should be put on the real second wave which took place from 1991-1994 in warehouse and lofts in chicago like Wade randolph Hamptons parties, 1355 Milwaukee, 1471 Milwaukee, 3333 W. Grand. and Seth Loves parties as well. The real story of Chicagos second wave has really never been told, but hopefully someone will eventually get to it....for the history books at least....-Davey dave
