The Shamelessboyz Theatre Company--a London fringe ensemble focused on gay-themed work--performs this all-male update of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' 1782 novel about a pair of scheming libertines playing erotic power games. Playwright Tom Smith, a theater professor at New Mexico State University, has populated his adaptation with a collection of tedious stereotypes--the jaded lecher, the naive newcomer--that have very little to do with contemporary urban queer life. But Shamelessboyz veteran Gareth ap Watkins delivers a charismatic, multifaceted portrayal of vain seducer Valmont, whose campaign to corrupt the innocent drives the drama. --Albert Williams a Through 7/1: Thu 8 PM, Fri 10 PM, Sat-Sun 7 PM, Bailiwick Repertory, Bailiwick Arts Center, 1229 W.
