This soulless touring show bills itself as a collection of "ABBA's greatest hits," yet half the songs in the first act are non-ABBA disco standards like "We Are Family," "Car Wash," and "YMCA." Then again, it also bills itself as "the biggest 70s party ever"—but then how to explain the extended medley of 60s Motown hits in act two? Whatever this thing is, it plays like an early rehearsal for a cruise ship revue. Eighteen dancers suffer through restless, skanky choreography by Jillian Sellers that mistakes exertion for style, while four technically impressive vocalists fail to find a personal connection to the material. For all the ersatz exuberance on display for two hours—including numerous exhortations to "make some noise, Chicago"—nothing coheres into an actual production number. —Justin Hayford
