Re: “What's an Album Worth?

vinyl record sales will not save the music industry but they are saving some individual shops that get to keep on keeping on, turning on passionate music lovers to great music and that's one of the things that just might save the music industry. if there were more stores in more towns, more music would be sold as communities of culture grow around these indie record stores. and whether or not there's money to be made and whether or not the start-up capital comes from a "trust fund", crazily obsessed music fanatics will continue to start labels (and stores), whether or not they're "viable businesses". and some of this music will change someone's life and inspire them to contribute to the great cosmic musical conversation. it has ever been thus and the more things change, the more they remain the same. it's a good time to be small, nimble and on top of your shit. stay true to your passion and hone your skills.
