Critical Waste

Can we please get rid of the critical waste that is Monica Kendrick? This woman has proven for months now that she can't review a band or show to save her life, with practically every critique she writes ending with her being unimpressed. In the past six months she's neglected major concerts that the rest of the papers, at least, gave a review and/or a mention to. How could she not acknowledge the Ozzfest, Smokin' Grooves, Warped, or Lilith Fair tours? Or miss the bunch of good bands that blew into town like Helmet, Pantera, Powerman 5000, Coal Chamber, and Corrosion of Conformity, just to name a few. Spot Check was at its best when Peter Margasak was writing it; at least the man took a more cut-and-dried view of what was going on. And unlike Kendrick, Margasak on occasion had something nice to say about someone who played out that weekend. Monica comes off like she can't be bothered and, to be quite honest, like she doesn't like music at all. What's up with that? It's come to the point where I now go and pick up a New City religiously and look forward to reading stuff from Dave Chamberlain. I'm sure the league's current members, Bill Wyman and Frank Youngwerth, will take her in with open arms.
