To the editors:

Bravo! Ted Shen's commentary on maestro Barenboim [September 27] is one of the best pieces of criticism I've read recently and the kind that is lacking in the dailies. John von Rhein may be a good user of adjectives but he is a lazy thinker. Robert Marsh is a good sleeper whose snoring at concerts is notorious. Wake up, gentlemen! Learn a thing or two about writing from Mr. Shen.
