An intelligent film noir (1957) by one of the more obscure of the 50s talents, Gerd Oswald, a German director who specialized in odd shifts between tragedy and black comedy. Barbara Stanwyck stars as a former newspaperwoman married to a dull cop (Sterling Hayden) who discovers a spectacular way to put some excitement back in her life. With Raymond Burr and Fay Wray.
