Marty Oberman's letter of December 12 tells at great length of the Chicago Council of Lawyers' procedure for evaluating judicial candidates, leading up to a strong push for letting Marty and his friends control the IVI-IPO's judicial endorsement procedure. Meanwhile, Marty's friend Jerry Meites is spending thousands of dollars on a lawsuit aimed at letting him dominate these endorsements ["Fighting Over Scraps," November 7]. If the IVI-IPO is so moribund, why are people devoting so much effort and money to attempts to fix its endorsements?
