Re: “The origins of the term "Windy City" have been misreported (again)

No offence intended but in my 14 years doing investigative reporting - years ago - I researched thoroughly and turned up that "Windy" was in reference to criticism spewed towards a major political convention held - that went wild in the late 80's prompting a large newspaper headline (now famous for obvious reasons) to state "......there's a big gust of hot wind emanating from the convention center....." Or words to that effect that "stuck" thereafter as an indirect reference that Chicago politicians were "full of hot air". NOT that Chicago was windy.
