Dear Ms. Guthrie,
I enjoyed your article entitled "House Blend" in the January 16 issue of the Chicago Reader. However, as president of Smoke, Inc., I would like to clarify a misconception. Smoke is not a cigar bar. It is a restaurant that sells cigars at reasonable prices.
The logo and idea for Smoke came from the flames that are created when grilling items in our open kitchen. Almost every seat in the house has a clear view of the kitchen, and customers are encouraged to converse with the cooks.
We have received a number of calls from patrons who are familiar with our establishment, and they are concerned. Several customers came in over the weekend with expectations that were guided by your article. Would it be possible to correct this problem?
