2104 W. Roscoe

When Hanger 18 relocated to Lincoln Square last year, the heart of Roscoe Village, between Damen and Western, lost its only new-clothing boutique. That void was filled in April when Emily Helfrich, a former elementary school social worker, opened Cinnamon, offering cute, colorful clothes in a pretty cream-and-cranberry-colored space. Helfrich wanted her shop to suit a variety of budgets, so besides splurge-worthy items like a floaty, fabric-edged cream kimono by Liquid ($170) she also stocks casual cotton skirts by XCVI ($52 and $67). Styles range from a girly Original Penguin blouse in a ladybug print to simple, sophisticated black T-shirt dresses by Three Dots. The small jewelry collection includes Marcia Moran's fabulously chunky 18-karat gold-plated cocktail rings with giant stones and intricate, lacelike gold-filled earrings by local designer Michelle Rubin. Mavi and Kasil jeans go for $85 to $198, and to augment her small selection of maternity clothes, Helfrich will alter them for mommies-to-be for $25. She says moms are in love with Orla Kiely's floral-print vinyl totes--"They're stain-proof."
