Re: “The Cop and the Killer

Robert "Bunky" Perkins was my uncle. I was 5 years old at the time of his death, now I'm 23 and and everytime I visit my grandmothers house I look at hit patrol cap and think how different things would be if he was still around.

As far as Stanley Davis...you may feel that you're actions were necessary to keep you out of prison but you shuld have also considered the possibility of being arrested carrying a concealed weapon as a convicted felon. I know the streets are a crazy place, especially after 2 decades of them changing when you're not around but when you tucked that gun into your waistband, you added to the madness that still infects the city of Chicago today. I've grown up to be a responsible adult and my family may never forgive you for your crime but I can understand the need to be protected in an unfamiliar environment. But you got what you deserved, you killed a cop no matter what the reason what it boils down to is you killed a person. I can't recall any specific events with my uncle but I do know he was a family man and he loved us the way you loved your family. He was a good man and friend from what I've read and think that it would've happened to the officer who was absent the day my uncle filled in for him. Who's to say? But its over now and there's no changing it.

Peace be unto yor family and you as well.
