The Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival runs from November 15 through 21 at the Music Box, 3733 N. Southport, 871-6604, and from November 24 through 26 at Chicago Filmmakers, 1229 W. Belmont, 281-8788. Tickets for programs at the Music Box ($4 for matinees, $5.50 for evening programs) are available at the box office on the day of the show only; tickets for programs at Chicago Filmmakers ($4 for most programs) go on sale a half hour before the first show. Festival passes are $50 (good for all screenings and the opening night reception), or $25 (good for six screenings only).


SALUT VICTOR! Anne Claire Poirier's Canadian feature about the friendship that grows between two older gay men in a nursing home (1988). A midwest premiere. (Music Box, 7:00)

NIGHT VISIONS Marusia Bociurkiw's hour-long film from Canada about the relationship that develops between a poor nonwhite woman engaged in a custody battle and a controversial woman photographer. On the same program, I Need a Man Like You, Kalli Paakspuu and Daria Stermak's comic Canadian short (1986). Both are midwest premieres. (Music Box, 9:00)


WHERE THE SUN BEATS DOWN Joaquim Pinto's Portuguese feature, recently shown at the Chicago Film Festival, about a young man returning from the city to his sister's farm and getting involved with a handsome young farmworker. (Music Box, 7:00)

BEYOND GRAVITY and CLAY FARMERS Two short features: Garth Maxwell's Beyond Gravity from New Zealand charts the romance between a lab technician with a passion for astronomy and an eccentric romantic (1988). A.P. Gonzales's Clay Farmers, set in the California countryside, concerns the difficulties of a male romance in a homophobic rural community. (Music Box, 9:00)
