Chicago Anarchist Film Festival 2011

The eleventh Chicago Anarchist Film Festival presents three nights of drama, documentary, and animation for "anarchists, anti-authoritarians, the anarcho-friendly and the anarcho-curious." Friday's program centers on the documentary Chicago Conspiracy (5:30 PM), which was filmed in Chile and contemplates the ongoing legacy of the 1973 coup that replaced the elected president Salvador Allende with the military dictator Augusto Pinochet. On Saturday, the documentary Occupation Has No Future (4:30 PM) follows a group of U.S. veterans and war protesters on a trip to investigate the Israeli-Palestinian confict. Sunday's selected feature is the documentary Ciclovida (LifeCycle) (1 PM), in which Brazilian musicians and farmers cycle across South America to expose the ill effects of industrial agriculture. Short films fill out each of the three programs, and the Saturday program will be followed by an after-party at the Spaceship, 1804 S. Racine.
