Chicago Anarchist Film Festival 2009

The ninth Chicago Anarchist Film Festival presents three nights of drama, documentary, and animation for "anarchists, anti-authoritarians, the anarcho-friendly and the anarcho-curious." Friday's program is anchored by the documentary On the Verge: Smash the EDO Campaign (2008, 90 min.), about UK activists tangling with a weapons manufacturer in the south of England. On Saturday, Enraged (56 min.) looks at four Israeli Jews whose activism against the Palestine occupation alienates them from their peers, and Love Revolution, Not State Delusion, Homotopia (2006) is a "flaming, fierce radical queer" attack on the campaign for gay marriage. On Sunday, Paper Tiger Television's Infiltrating the Underground (2008, 28 min.) shows how independent media have been corrupted by advertising and corporate culture; it screens with Infest Wisely (2007, 86 min.), a "lo-fi sci-fi movie in seven episodes" whose human characters have all been transformed by nanotechnology into well-regulated machines.
