Re: “While the city sleeps on Thanksgiving Day, lonely souls rule the neighborhood streets

I had many similar experiences in the same neighborhood where I lived in for 21 years! I use to take my blind Aunt Helen on walks such as yours. I also had my Aunt May to go on walks who needed mental health and medication but it was not available back then. Yes, I knew loneliness very well back then. My Aunts were able to convey the calmness and unique beauty of our neighborhood in their own secret ways as they perceived the environment in many different ways. Guess that was my awakening and the realization that there was beauty, depth and profound meanings in every living soul in our neighborhood and to deeply enjoy the serenity and quietness and not feel so deeply alone as much. I so enjoyed your story as it brought back to so many special learning and loving memories. Thank you for sharing. Your writing is very unique and touches my heart and soul.
