On December 31, the Reader will publish its third annual 1,000 Words issue, a look back at the year in Chicago in photos.

We’d like to include your photos of 2009. No subject is too big or too small—we’re looking for everything from big news captures to perfect little details. Send your high-resolution contest entries (10 MB max) or links to them to: 1000words@chicagoreader.com.

We will also consider photos submitted to the Chicago Reader Flickr pool.

The submission deadline is midnight, December 13.

If we choose your photo for publication, you’ll be entered into a drawing for these prizes:

1) A Canon PowerShot 780IS courtesy of Central Camera and four digital photography classes at the Chicago Photography Academy

2) A Manfrotto Compact Tripod and Bag courtesy of Central Camera and one digital photography class at the Chicago Photography Academy

3) A Tamrac Express 7 Camera Bag courtesy of Central Camera
