Price: $25

Porchlight Music Theatre and KB Productions present this one-woman show about the early life of Elizabeth Taylor, written by and starring Kayla Boye and directed by Erin Kraft. Set in May 1961, after the movie star's near-brush with death and her first Oscar-winning performance in 1960's Butterfield 8, Boye's play imagines Taylor giving an interview to a biographer as she wrestles with the legacy of her early years and her overwhelming celebrity. The show, unlike most Porchlight productions, isn't a musical, but a song written, arranged, and produced by Ethan Deppe and performed by Bethany Thomas, "Lillies and Roses," is part of the package. The play first premiered at the Den Theatre in 2019. A portion of the ticket sales for this streaming presentation will go to Howard Brown Health and Brave Space Alliance in recognition of Taylor's commitment to AIDS activism and her role as an ally to LGBTQ people.
