Brunch | River North | Breakfast, American | Restaurant
Sustainably minded breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot.

Our Review

The people behind Brunch (aka Big Onion Tavern Group) have a thing or two to learn about SEO. But in some respects their formula for success in River North seems to be right on: a large, clean, airy space with lots of light and an extensive menu that’s reasonably priced for the area. Luckily for them, the quality of the food is probably irrelevant—both a breakfast skillet (with pancetta, sweet potato, Yukon gold potato, goat cheese, and undetectable fresh herbs) and a tempura-fried avocado slider special with red pepper-tomato marmalade were pretty bland. And though Brunch hits on all the right buzzwords—organic, local, sustainable—there's no substance beneath the slick surface. When's the last time you saw avocados at your local farmers' market?
