Annoyance Theatre's new musical centers on a cadre of culinary rebels who gain notoriety with their edgy, take-no-prisoners approach to brunch. They're so in-your-face that they'll ambush you on the street and force feed you eggs Benedict. The bulk of the show depicts the gang's most ambitious stunt: breaking into a prison to prepare the final meal for a child star-turned-killer. Since there's only so much mileage you can get from mimosa jokes, tedious subplots—including one about the prison warden's strict adherence to meal times—proliferate. There's comic potential in the combination of guerrilla tactics and French toast, but neither the script nor Lisa McQueen's decidedly unpunky score capitalizes on it. —Zac Thompson
