Between Cafe and Lounge is a swanky, late night spot...not a great dinner spot (which may have been our mistake). The room is lush and beautiful, with red walls and couches and beautiful lighting. We sat at one of the low tables in the front, which seemed like a good idea. However, the couch was too large to really relax in, and the stools weren't very comfortable.
Throughout our meal, the server was friendly, but wasn't very knowledgeable about the food or the drinks. She hadn't tried any of the drinks we asked her about (I tried the popcorn martini--much better than it sounds) and hadn't tried a lot of the food (and with such a small, unique menu, she should have been able to talk more about the food). The portions were tiny--it is a tapas place, after all--and beautifully plated. We tried the beef carpaccio (I've never had it before, but it tasted good), small burgers (great Indian spices), the tuna tartare (this was very average), the coconut crepes (my favorite), and the scallops (which were big, meaty, and delicious). The food overall was just okay. Out of the five of us that ate, every dish was really enjoyed by one or two people, and really disliked by one or two people.
If I returned to Between, I would return late at night and not very hungry. As a snack, the food would have been fine, but as a dinner it neither filled me up or gave me enough options.
