South Loop outpost with the same menu as the Wicker Park favorite for breakfast, lunch, and brunch.

Our Review

Just blocks from the museum campus, this Bongo Room outpost shares the exposed brick, grass-colored walls, and stainless-steel accents of its sister on Milwaukee. The food's the same at both places too—a good thing when that means delicious variations on brunch classics. The menu is anchored by omelets, with more than 25 options for ingredients including Havarti, smoked Gouda, and ten other cheeses. There are several over-the-top twists on syrup standards, like the house specialty "Chocolate Tower" French toast (available only on weekends), served with maple mascarpone, banana creme brulee sauce, banana slices, and shaved chocolate. The weekend brunch menu expands the egg entries with five variations on eggs Benedict/eggs Florentine.
