It's Body Awareness Week at fictional Shirley State College in Vermont, and the event's organizer—a psychology professor named Phyllis—is superexcited about promoting positive self-image and resisting the male gaze. Her good mood is wrecked, though, by Frank, a guest artist who contributes a photography exhibit that Phyllis finds exploitative. To make matters worse, Frank easily wins over Phyllis's partner, Joyce, and Joyce's on-the-spectrum son, Jared. Though the plot boils down to an argument, playwright Annie Baker is less concerned with taking a side than exploring the flawed people doing the arguing. The fights in Katherine Lamb's staging for Dandelion Theatre never seem to heat up, but the family dynamic created by the cast is both warm and subtly fraught. —Zac Thompson
