Bob Saget

The Improv is back. In June, after an 11-year absence, the franchise opened an outlet in Schaumburg billed as the largest comedy club in America (it seats 450), and its first few months have been packed with big talent. This week offers a rare opportunity to see Bob Saget. Those familiar only with his milquetoast personas on Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos may be shocked by his stand-up act. But if you've seen his now infamous performance in The Aristocrats (his extended take on the filthy vaudeville joke went well beyond most), you might not. Onstage Saget brilliantly plays off his wholesome image: referring to his Full House daughters, Saget riffs, "D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle stole my plane ticket to the show tonight. Those bitches." Thu 8/17, 7:30 PM, Fri 8/18, 7:30 and 9:45 PM, Sat 8/19, 7, 9:15, and 11 PM, Sun 8/20, 7 PM, The Improv, Woodfield Mall, Golf Rd. at Route 53, Schaumburg, 847-240-2001, $26. All shows two-drink minimum, 21+.
