Jamal (Martin Lawrence), a medieval-theme-park employee who wakes up in the year 1328 after falling into the company moat, thinks he's somehow wound up in a competing park that puts his workplace to shame. That the characters in this time-travel comedy rationalize one another's behavior so it won't seem out of context—Jamal thinks the medievals are theme-park actors who refuse to break character; they think he's a messenger from a distant kingdom—can't be funny indefinitely, and as soon as Jamal figures out what's happened, he starts trying to make the best of a bad situation, which becomes our job too. Gil Junger directed a screenplay by Darryl Quarles, Peter Gaulke, and Gerry Swallow. 95 min.
