Re: “Bradley Cooper is number one with a bullet in American Sniper

I felt like the movie had airbrushed Kyle, just in terms of his backstory and without reference to his postwar life involving bold statements and braggadocio. But this review could have been written by anybody after watching a Michael Moore film, or a Michael Moore interview curiously about what cowards snipers are. While the film could have been more nuanced, it was not a full-throated rebel yell about Iraq. It was an exploration into the unusual and unique perspective of a man whose job is to kill any threat that shows up on his scope - even if they're women and children. That's not a subject of internal conflict the film handles to my satisfaction but it certainly merited better handling than these drive-by reviews from writers who are angry the rest of us aren't as far to the left as they are.
