To the editors:

I would like to thank one Justin Hayford for granting me my first review in the Reader [October 20]. As a composer and musician it is very difficult to be considered worthy of the review section, for Dance, Film, Theatre and clothing design seem to be the only artistic forms that get noticed.

The Reader cannot be everything. If they print a picture of a band, they want you to search for just where the band is playing so that you can scan all of the ads for bars and underwear.

If you are lucky you might get a critic's choice and indeed they tell you where the artist is playing. If you are from New York your odds are better, so I have set up P.O. boxes in both New York and Hollywood.

Mr. Hayford stated that I had an Attitude. Can I use this quote in my press material? Is this good press or bad press? But I am so proud to finally get a review of any kind in the Reader, for it has been 13 years of playing concerts and bars, composing ballets and trying to make the critic's choice--

An attituded Sparrow
