Best Polish-Mexican-American $1.50 taco

Loncars Liquors

3201 E. 92nd

On Wednesday nights this 100-year-old family-run South Chicago dive bar throws a deadpan middle-American taco night for a largely Hispanic crowd. The crispy shells are fried to order and filled with mild ground beef, iceberg lettuce, and creamy fresh cheese. A douse of the house salsa is the only hint of Mexico you'll taste—anything more authentic would ruin the nostalgia. —Kristina Meyer
