Berlin Around the Corner

A reconstruction of Gerhard Klein's 1965 East German feature, designed as a successor to his Berlin trilogy of the 50s and suppressed by the communist government shortly before its completion. Like its popular predecessors, the film deals with youth—in this case an alienated young man living with his parents who's working at a metal-processing plant and involved with an older woman in the midst of a divorce. With Dieter Mann, Kaspar Eichel, and Monika Gabriel.
