Re: “Which of the albums getting played at Riot Fest actually deserve it?

To add to the insanity, RCHP included the following lyric in 'Good Time Boys'. You seriously have this completely backwards.

Funky young kings we sing of truth and soul
We're the modern day braves with one strong hold
Through the world of song our boldness is exposed
I'm talkin' 'bout my buddy's funk it up Fishbone

You seriously have this completely backwards. People do shout outs to people trying to blindly copy them. They give shout outs to their elders and respected peers.

"Truth and Soul just sounds like a ska-funk version of the Red Hot Chili Peppers."

Ummm... In the spirit of Riot Fest 2017, this is sort of like saying "NIN sounds like a slightly angrier version of Stabbing Westward". It is ok if you don't like Fishbone or Truth and Soul, but I am pretty sure Fishbone was gigging around the LA area for years 4 or 5 years before the Peppers even became a band out there. Hell 'Truth and Soul' preceded "Mother's Milk' by almost a year and Fishbone's immortal eponymous EP came out in 1985. Know your history. It would be more truthful to say that RCHP are a much more popular one note, smaller ranged, white funk version of Fishbone.
