Re: “My friend Brandon Bostian, the Amtrak 188 engineer

Good post. I'm glad I found it. I live in the Philadelphia area, and, even though it was via SEPTA, I've taken the train from 30th Street Station to Trenton, which travels the same route as the AMTRAK trains coming out of 30th Street Station. In other words, I've been on those rails often enough to recognize where the accident occurred, and often enough to have seen the maze of tracks, often enough to know how busy the entire stretch is. I was horrified when, in one headline, the news outlet changed the description of Brandon from being 'passionate' about trains to 'obsessed'. I am equally horrified by the negative comments of respondents here regarding Brandon. Obviously *something* went wrong, but condemning Brandon Bostian before the investigation is complete? Really? Have any of you ever been the driver - or even just a passenger - in a fatal automobile accident that wasn't your fault? Do you know what that feels like? Even IF Brandon Bostian is found to be 100% clear of any fault in that accident, *something* went wrong, and he will no less have to live with it simply because fate placed him at the helm of that train that day in that moment. And believe me, I sincerely hope and pray that Mr. Bostian is cleared.
