After being arrested for an unsuccessful seafood heist, Jamie Foxx finds himself drafted by U.S. Treasury investigator David Morse to draw out a master criminal by making him believe that Foxx knows the whereabouts of $42 million in stolen gold. A team of techies implant a chip in Foxx, enabling agents to watch (and critique) his every move—including the ones he puts on his ex-girlfriend—in this comedy-thriller that has no particular motive for changing tones. Antoine Fuqua directed a screenplay by Andrew Scheinman, Adam Scheinman, and Tony Gilroy; with Doug Hutchison, Robert Pastorelli, and Kimberly Elise. 110 min.
