To the editors:

I am working on a biography of Bruno Bettelheim, so I have been quite interested in the outpouring of letters about him in these columns in recent months. They have proved quite helpful in my research and I am eager to contact others who were students or counselors at the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School during Dr. Bettelheim's tenure as director from 1944 to 1973. I also would appreciate hearing from anyone else who knew and/or worked with him and would welcome anecdotes that shed light on the man as well as copies of letters he wrote. I am particularly interested in information about his years in Vienna before World War II and about his year in Dachau and Buchenwald before coming to the United States in 1939.

Any information, no matter how minor it seems, is important to my search, and privacy will be strictly respected when requested. Please send any communications to me at 404 Riverside Drive, New York, N.Y. 10025.

Thank you.
