Audience Annihilated Part Two: Gold Star Sticker

When: Fridays-Sundays. Continues through Nov. 2 2014
Price: $18, reservations required
The first installment of Dream Theatre's 15-minute horror show, presented in 2011, was genuinely menacing. A hair-trigger brute (playwright Jeremy Menekseoglu) shoved me through a dark maze, forced me onto an uncomfortable bench, and insisted that I tend the suppurating lesions rotting the innards of his imprisoned whore. Part Two: Gold Star Sticker, which returns after debuting last year, pumps up the creepiness (intractable bed wetter Princess—played by multiple audience members—is put to bed by homicidal-clown parents and a talking teddy bear) but includes ample ironic humor. The performances are meticulous, as is the demented tween bedroom set. The only misstep: keeping the Princess performers facing away from the rest of the audience. I'll bet watching their reactions is worth the price of admission. —Justin Hayford
