Comedy drama, Romance
Deeply dissatisfied with his life, a white-collar nobody (Colin Firth) fakes his death, abandons his girlfriend and estranged young son, and embarks on a road trip to Indiana, where a dream job as a pro trainer on a golf course awaits him. For the most part, the film is very basic, a simple drama about the dangers of avoiding responsibility, but there are occasional flairs of eccentricity. While on the road, Firth picks up a spunky companion (Emily Blunt) who's also pursuing a new lease on life, and together they develop a shared fetish for breaking into strangers' homes, assuming their identities, and fucking on their beds. This unique idea plays like a psychosexual variation of the Bonnie and Clyde myth, but it's relegated to the margins of the story. Dante Ariola directed.
