An overweight washout takes a job at the high-end flower shop owned by her sister, a tightly wound perfectionist who sees her corpulent sibling as the dangerous embodiment of urges she's spent her life suppressing. The shop's only other employee--an amiable but aimless college dropout with an uptight brother of his own--is drawn to the newcomer, and a halting romance develops. Ken Weitzman's script begins as a familiar battle between stuck-ups and fuck-ups, but deepens into an exploration of the irrepressible lure of what's bad for us. Meghan Beals McCarthy's production for Pavement Group features a likable cast, but they struggle with the play's shifts in tone, veering unsteadily from loopy to lyrical. --Zac Thompson
