Re: “Coobah

we have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this restaurant(it has looked ready to open for ages). They are up and running and have already had their friend parties- and they had a soft opening last night- just opened the doors to see who would come in. The official opening is not for another week. They definitely spent money on a designer and decor- it looks great, great lighting and atmosphere- if not a tiny bit dark (I really wanted to see the colors of some of the salsas, and other sauces- but, too dark). They were out of my first choice entree and my second choice entree was fine. I would go more for the ambience than the menu. We are fish and veggie eaters only, and our entrees were just ok- but there were some interesting sounding meat entrees- the lamb sounded exciting. The appetizers all sound good- we had a ceviche that was really done nicely. The drink menu is fun- I will usually have a cocktail before dinner and then drink wine-- but the mojitos were so delicious- I just carried on. The wine list looked interesting though- with many Spanish choices. Ooh- and we had fantastic desserts. I liked it there- we will definitly be back. I think it's the kind of place I would love to go to for cocktails and appetizers- or cocktails and desserts. Or cocktails...
