Aqua Teen Hunger Force | Lakeshore Theater | Stand-Up | Chicago Reader
This is a past event.
When: Nov. 13-14 2009
Price: $15
Two years ago, several cast members from Fox's Family Guy performed a live episode of the show at the Chicago Theater, voicing characters projected on a screen. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. This program has similar promise: voice actor Dana Snyder teams up with Dave Willis, cocreator and producer of Adult Swim's magnificently absurd Aqua Teen Hunger Force--about three anthropomorphic fast-food items and their human neighbor, Carl, hanging out in suburban New Jersey--to read from ATHF scripts, premiere "never-before-seen pilots and shorts," play music, do a Q and A, and hand out "free junk." Between them Willis and Snyder voice at least eight of the show's characters, including three of the four principals: Carl; Master Shake, the sociopathic milk shake; and Meatwad, a hopelessly gullible ball of ground beef who belongs in the pantheon of great American animated characters.
