The over-the-top theatrics of Jackson's pals crying foul to this review is like a good friend who won't tell you that you look fat in that dress or totally agrees that your bow-tie-and-suspenders combo makes you terrifying to white men. But, yes, let's discredit a critic based on being a white male as white males (and white feminist) come to your rescue as they give you fortune cookie affirmations or comparing you to other white males like van Gogh and David Bowie. Sorry this review made you sad, as least you now know you have good friends, but your hurt feelings doesn't replace the honesty of Tony's impression of the show as an audience member. And better friends would tell you the truth. Grow from this. Don't apologize. But take it in and grow. Please, don't hide behind your self-righteous view of your performance or your friend's misguided "I got your back" support. Not everything racist and sexist even if most things are.
