To the editors:

Before reading your March 31 mayoral campaign coverage ["The Fuel of a New Machine" and "What's This Election About?"], I thought each of the two viable candidates was worse than the other. Learning from David Moberg that Daley "sees eye to eye with" the "mainstream business community"--and from Doug Cassel that Evans "reflect[s] the interests of poor and working people"--helped me make my choice.

The only solution to poverty is economic growth; penalizing success in order to subsidize failure is a policy of "equality in misery." I voted for Daley.
