Re: “Marrakech Expresso

I started going to this place in the mornings for my coffee because they are the only cafe on Damen in Lincoln Square that hand crafts their coffee drinks (which are rich and most satisfying). The space was once an old furrier and has a strange 1940s grandeur.
Marrakech is owned by a really nice Moroocan guy who seems to get all the menu choices from the food he grew up on. The cous-cous with tender bits of chicken, which is slow cooked and available only on Fridays is my personal favorite. The place is B.Y.O.B., which cuts the cost, but if you don't have the traditional pot of Morrocan tea you are really missing out on a great thing. Fresh mint leaves, sugar and spices are steeped in hot water and brought to your table in traditional ornate silver pots - perfect for lounging after dinner.
