Grace Lee's 2007 mockumentary is set in a near future where high-functioning zombies have become the latest indignant minority, organizing politically and demanding equal rights. Almost nothing about this indie video qualifies as original—its comic premise is lifted from Shaun of the Dead, its deadpan absurdity from Christopher Guest, and its menacing endgame, at a remote zombie festival, from The Wicker Man. But Lee brings an admirably light touch to the comic interviews (aided by Al Vicente and Jane Edith Wilson as cagey zombie subjects) and smoothly steers the narrative from farce to suspense. 90 min.
