I'm surprised that a distributor picked up this documentary about the U.S. manufacturing industry for theatrical release—it feels like something you'd watch in a high school economics class. As an educational film, though, it's quite successful, explaining concepts like trade deficits and supply and demand with enough visual pizzazz to hold the interest of a lay audience. This argues that U.S. companies could do a lot for the economy if they created more domestic manufacturing jobs instead of opening factories overseas—a position that should find agreement with all but the staunchest proponents of free trade.
