A failed homage to Jeffrey Jones's 70 Scenes of Halloween, Ron Riekki's collage of encounters between TOT (Trick-or-Treater, played by Kevin Crispin) and Non-TOT (Elizabeth Bagby) has some charm but never moves beyond a semi-clever theatrical conceit. The denouement, seemingly inspired by Tony Kushner's Weimar-era drama A Bright Room Called Day, amounts to Riekki donning a mask of intellectual seriousness to dispense an absurdism-lite pick-a-mix of socio-political insights, ultimately as stale as month-old candy corn. Bagby and Crispin commit to the thin material admirably, but I was ready to turn out the lights and pretend I wasn't home long before it ended. --Kerry Reid
