The nonstop action in this British romp should ensure that its target audience, sugar-buzzed prepubescent boys, stay strapped in their seats. Orphaned at an early age, the title hero (newcomer Alex Pettyfer) has been raised by his beloved but chronically absent uncle (Ewan McGregor). When the uncle is killed it's revealed that he wasn't the staid banker he appeared to be but a secret agent, and the nephew is recruited as a schoolboy superspy, eventually infiltrating the compound of a nefarious American-born computer magnate (played with hammy gusto by Mickey Rourke). Anthony Horowitz adapted his own novel, the first in a popular series; Geoffrey Sax directed. With Alicia Silverstone, Bill Nighy, Stephen Fry, and Robbie Coltrane. PG, 93 min.
