Re: “For Greater Glory

I enjoyed the movie. It's close to the real history & it's entertaining . My grandmother's brother was a Cristero and got hung on a tree by the federales. The Cristero war was not taught in schools in all Mexico in my generation & prior generations. I knew of this war because my mom told me the stories during my childhood about her uncle the Cristero, stories that were told to her by her grandmother. Comparing the mouth to mouth versions & what I have read about the history of this war, I find the movie very interesting & well casted. It's a long movie and enjoyed every minute of it. My mom depicted the scenes in the movie, about the priests being shot & hung in churches, Cristeros hung from trees & electric poles, & much, much more, as if she had been there; except she wasn't even born yet. Her mother & grandmother were witnesses, victims & supporters of the cristero war. During those 2 years of war, religious weddings, baptisms, & other religious protocols were performed underground or in the mountains, hidden from the public eye.
