I feel sympathetic for the home owners along the line who've had to deal with vandalism and break ins, until I remember that they were stupid enough to buy condos and townhouses that faced out onto an abandoned rail line in the first place.

Take a look on Bing Virtual Earth at the birds eye view of the Bloomingdale line, and take a look at the older houses along the line's west end. Notice how none of them face directly onto the railroad embankment? But some idiot McMansion architect assumed that since the trains were gone, he might as well just make his building butt up against the train. And some idiot yuppies were dumb enough to not consider the potential (and really, very obvious) problems this would entail.

So, sorry you yuppie swine, you got what you paid for. Live with it and don't complain or blame others for your own naivety.
