Kooky Joan Cusack can't provide sufficient comic relief in this incredibly naive attempt at schmaltz. Piling one disingenuous moment on top of another, this story about a couple who can't seem to conceive demands that we find Greg Kinnear and Lauren Holly charming because they display every cliched behavior of upwardly mobile breeders and manage to be perpetually hot for each other, even under circumstances that would intimidate a sexual compulsive. Unwilling or unable to provide a semen sample until his wife enters the fertility clinic's “masturbatorium” with him, Kinnear's character declares that it's been a while since he's come without her. As a further test of his divinity, he becomes the object of a seduction attempt by Jill Hennessy—in a role that will only lead to even smaller ones—and naturally he has to make out with her a little before he can decide whether to go through with an affair. Written by Kevin Meyer and director Keith Samples.
